Hi guys! I'm doing intro about the-big-bangmyself.

My name is Perlyn, 13 years old, previously from Maha Bodhi School and now Anglican High School, Infocomm club. I'm sec 1 this year(i hate it!), class 1 Compassion'09. I'm born in the month of January, the 9th day of January. I dance ballet, this year grade 6. I'm not good at it but I still love it. I like to watch dramas(pls, not soap operas.), espically HongKong TVB Dramas or sometimes Taiwan Idol Dramas. I'm not good at playing sports because I can't catch and hate balls. And so, I'm not that kind of sporty one. I love to shop (who doesn't?). But not rich enough to buy whatever i want. I grew up in Pasir Ris. I have a sister and my lovely parents with me.

YAY! I'm suddenly so excited. I'm done with my intro. That's just all you need to know.

Hey! I heard some guy from the movie '500 Days of Summer' say that if a girl says 'hey' instead of 'hi', she's a lesbian. Interesting conclusion but so not true, because I'm the perfect example of a girl who says 'hey' but I'm definitely straight! Anyway, I'm here to introduce myself. So that whoever sees this blog would get a clearer idea of who I am! (erm, yay. haha.)

Firstly. The name's Kelly. Nope, not 'Bond. James Bond.'. Just Kelly. Turning 15 in 10 days and 16 in 375 days and 17 in 740 days and 18 in... Well, you get the picture. I'm from AHS 3D'09 and in the future, 4D'10. I was from 1F'07 and 2D'08. All these classes are the best in the world :D haha my alma mater was St Hilda's Primary School, which rocks too. I was also from... PAP @ Simei Blk 121 or something. So if any of my ex-kindergarten mates see this, well, hi! Long time no see!

I'm currently taking Triple Sci + Hist as Joo Hwee has said earlier. I prefer Stalin to Hitler because Hitler is sexist. I think the League of Nations was an utter disaster and that Mr Woodrow Wilson should have asked USA to join it in the first place. I like Biology too, by the way, but I'm not exactly planning to be a doctor next time. Forensic science does interest me, but I'm interested in Psychology and Sociology as well :D So if I seem to be staring intently at you, I'm trying to read your body language. Joking. Or not.

Photography rocks and so does Infocomm Club! But hey, I'm not trying to be biased here. haha. I love playing badminton, table tennis and netball so I guess you can call me sporty. I'm also interested in watching almost any type of sport- tennis, golf, swimming, bowling and especially badminton, table tennis and Formula 1 Racing (Lewis Hamilton!) :D For my favourite athletes you can send me a message. I actually did join NEmation III last year with another group, but I've got to admit that we didn't really put in that much effort compared to this year, so we didn't get into the Top 40. haha but as the proverbial saying goes, 'Failure is the key to success.' So here I am today, with the grace of God and our continuous hard work and determination :D

Last of all, I wanted to join NEmation because the clips aired on tv in the previous years really got me inspired. These clips were only 1 minute long, but their message could last in your hearts for a long time to come. I guess I am rather patriotic so I hope that our clips would be able to encourage everyone to care for Singapore! hahaha. I also want to encourage everyone to join next year because you get to learn new skills and the importance of time management. I know this sounds so cliche, but after experiencing the 1 week selection process, I must say I really learnt a lot of things in the midst of having fun. And the trainers from Animagine are super awesome too! Shout-out to Mr El, Mr Jason and Mr Joshua for helping us :D

Anyway, as mentioned, we're from Anglican High School. Anglican High School Infocomm Club to be exact. And I'm Sec2 this year:D 2C'09. From 1A'08 last year. But I'm going to be in Sec3 soon, haha! Though I still do not know which subject combination I'm going to take...

But....I wanna take TripSciHist, hopefully :D Then I can spam Kelly questions xD Okay joking. I wanna take TripSciHist because I <3 Science :D More of bio actually, esp forensics & genetics haha xD

I'm previously from Bedok Green Primary and its school motto is 'pesevere and succeed'. Seems like it fits this competition, uh.

I'm also the team leader of the-big-bang, which seems weird to me cos Kelly, is the vice-pres of AHS Infocomm Club. And I'm the ultimate slacker.

I joined this competition because...It seems cool and interesting -like making that 1 minute animated clip? Its so WOW. And I think it really seems unbelieveable for me to get into the top 10 cos I'll be able to produce a clip that I've always gone 'wow' and 'OMG, so cool' at the previous years' clips.

Introduction, so I shall name all the nicks that my friends give me, HAHA!

I have nicknames like dumbcane, carrotmilk, carrotcow [cos carrotcow produces carrotmilk?], jh, joo, hwee [wow, my name has been separated....] and others like joohweean, kiwi, mojojoojoo, joojoo and ahhwee. Wait let me think. Oh and there's jewey and chewy, given by Jolene and Kelly respectively during the 1 week selection process.

'Sup? Anyway, before the intro of our team members, we'll like to share this link with you guys. It's our facebook fan page set up by the NEmation organizers (thanks! :D) so do become a fan to show your support... and love! muahahahahaha. It also lets the organizers know that we have the AHS team spirit and everyone is really making an effort for this competition. And remember to vote for us next year when the clip is out. Don't worry, rest assured we'll do our best to make it look as great as possible!

We may plan to set up a twitter page soon for the 3 weeks when we're producing our clip so you can be updated. I'm sure you guys want to be updated right? :P haha anyway, we'll try to blog as soon as frequently as possible during that 3 weeks, from 23rd November to 11th December! yay :D

What is NEmation! ?

N.E.mation! is a competition for youths to express their notions on Total Defence through animation.

Encouraged by the success of the five TD animation clips featured in the National Day Rally in 2006, Nexus has organised N.E.mation! since 2007 to provide a creative platform for students to express their personal ideas about Total Defence.

Last year, N.E.mation! III received 560 submission entries from secondary schools, junior colleges and centralised institutes in Singapore, more than doubled from the previous season’s 219 submissions.

To date, almost 3,200 students have participated in N.E.mation! and the numbers are expected to grow in future. Students with no prior experience in animation were given training to equip themselves with skills to convert their stories into one-minute animation clips for public viewing and voting. The winners of the competition were determined by a combination of public voting and judging by a panel including industry professionals. The winning clips were then screened island-wide on free-to-air television and some were honoured at international film awards.

This year in N.E.mation! 4, students were asked to use their creativity to produce storylines centred around the theme of "Why I Care About Singapore". The animation clips of the top ten finalist teams will be judged by industry professionals such as Raman Hui (Animation Supervisor, DreamWorks Animation SKG). In addition, the public can vote for their three favourite clips come January 2010 at www.nemation.sg or via SMS. The winning team will win a coveted trip to visit DreamWorks Animation in the USA!
